Damascus President Al-Assad highlighted Syria's support, both at the government and popular levels, for the OIC's endeavors, stressing that Syria will, in its capacity as Chairman of the 36th CFM Session, strive to foster cooperation with the OIC in a bid to achieve planned objectives, articulate a unified Islamic stand towards Islamic issues, and enhance the role of the OIC in the political, economic, social and cultural fields. For his part, the Secretary General expressed his deep appreciation for the Syrian leadership's hospitality and meticulous organization of the ongoing CFM Session.
