Damascus, May 25, SPA -- The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu met Syrian President Bashar al-Assad here yesterday. The meeting was held on the fringes of the on-going 36th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the OIC Member States. During the meeting, the Syrian President extolled the unstinting efforts deployed by the Secretary General in light of the circumstances and challenges confronting the Muslim world, on top of which figures the Palestinian issue. He pointed out that the Palestinian issue witness negative developments embodied by internal divisiveness, the formation of a right-wing Israeli government that obstinately rejects the principles of the peace process, as well as the incessant attacks waged by Israel on al-Quds city and the Israeli attempts to Judaize it. --MORE www.spa.gov.sa/667826
