The government seemed rattled by the actions of thealliance of democracy activists and supporters of oustedPrime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, but insisted that theEast Asia Summit of 16 countries would proceed as planned. Participants include China, India and Japan. Tens of thousands of protesters tried a new tacticThursday, blocking a major intersection in the capital intheir campaign to force Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajivaout of office.
