Jeddah, September 14, SPA -- The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu received at his office yesterday Mr. Surin Pitsuwan, Secretary General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and his accompanying delegation. Mr. Pitsuwan briefed the OIC Secretary General on major areas of ASEAN activities and expressed the hope that the two Organizations would work on the ways and means to explore the areas of common interest. On his part, the OIC Secretary General welcoming close relations and fruitful cooperation between the OIC and other international and regional organizations and groupings, briefed Mr. Pitsuwan on the OIC activities and its new vision and mission.
