Jeddah, July 01, SPA -- The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has reiterated the current fast development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would be pursued. He highlighted the bounties bestowed by Allah Almighty on the country, stressing the importance of parallel human and intellectual development along with the urban development. The King noted that the problem of an increase in prices of some foodstuffs facing the entire world, has also affected the Kingdom, stressing that it can be resolved by the officials notably in the sphere of essential foodstuffs. He disclosed that there are plans for controlling inflation through exploitation of finance availability in the Kingdom, taking into account the importance of the welfare of the citizens and preservation of their savings. The King said the Kingdom had made clear at the Jeddah Energy Meeting its rejection of the emerging increases in oil prices. "Moreover, it had also made it clear that its policy ever since the establishment of OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) was based on adopting a fair price for oil which takes into account the interests of both producers and consumers." The King urged the oil producing and consuming countries to disclose the real causes for the increase of prices so as to deal clearly and transparently with the problem because the innocent should never be responsible of the mistakes committed by the wrongdoers. The King made these remarks in an interview with Kuwait-based Al-Siyasa newspaper.
