Jeddah, October 29, SPA -- The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has reiterated that the peace meeting proposed by the US will be fruitful if all concerned parties demonstrate seriousness and desire, and it will also be successful if there is a serious work as regards the issues that concern the Palestinians and the Arab and Muslim world. The Kingdom has expressed its opinion, and made it clear that if the meeting is not preceded by serious work, then it will end in failure, and such a development will not be acceptable to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for the host country and also for the invitees to the conference, he elaborated. The remarks were made in an interview with BBC on the occasion of his visit to the United Kingdom. Q: Is the Kingdom ready to attend the peace meeting proposed by the US?A: I think the Kingdom has said its word ever since the first beginning, and made it clear that without serious work, the meeting will end up in failure, and this development will not be accepted by us, even the host country, namely America, and also the invitees (to the conference). Q: Will the Kingdom participates if you presume that the meeting will succeed?A: it is too early to answer the question. Q: What are the vital problems you think are slated for discussion to ensure the success of the conference? A: There are so many matters I know them. Our Palestinian brethren, as it seems, and as we have heard were not able to resolve most of the problems with the Israelis. Q:US is keen on convening the conference in America at the earliest possible time, do you share this stance of the US ? A: Our Palestinian brethren are not optimistic, and I think that if good arrangements are not made for the conference, and if serious work is not done for the issues that concern the Palestinians and the Arab and Muslim world, I think it will not be successful.
