MOGADISHU, Somalia, May 21, SPA -- Dozens of heavily armed gunmenkidnapped two Italian aid workers and their Somalicolleague in southern Somalia on Wednesday, witnesses and adiplomat said. Village elder Ahmed Yunis said the gunmen, armed withmachine-guns and rocket-propelled grenades, had surroundedthe aid workers' house in Awdhigle, about 70 kilometers (45miles) south of the capital, Mogadishu. The gunmen then blindfolded the aid workers _ an Italianman and woman and a Somali man _ and took them away, Yunissaid.
