The extraordinary Islamic summit was held in Makkah on Dec 7-8, 2005. Addressing the summit King Abdullah slammed extremism and fanaticism. He called for ending injustice and subjugation as well as for spreading the spirit of tolerance and scientific and industrial development. King Abdullah said the Kingdom's Muslim scholars have welcomed the idea of convening a meeting for the followers of the heavenly religions for considering the problems facing the humanity.
