King Abdullah speaking before the international Islamic conference for dialogue earlier held in Makkah warned against extremism and fanaticism, and called for tolerance and justice. He deplored narrow-mindedness and ignorance and said Islam advocates tolerance and cooperation among the nations. King Abdullah at the seminar on Islam in the contemporary media, organized by the MWL in 1422, said the Kingdom calls for dialogue, understanding and cooperation among the civilizations, and calls for coexistence among the nations in line with the Islamic rules. Realizing his responsibility towards the sufferings of the Muslim nation, King Abdullah called for convening a conference for the leaders of the Muslim countries in Makkah to set a comprehensive working plan to tackle the obstacles that stand before realizing the aspirations of the Muslim countries and coordination of the concepts of tolerance and moderation as well as deepening the culture of dialogue among the nations and civilizations.-more www.spa.gov.sa/613726
