Cairo, February 02, SPA -- Egypt's President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak received here today the Foreign Minister of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Saud Al-Faisal, and President of Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas. During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments of Egyptian efforts for reconciliation between Palestinian factions to reach a unified Palestinian position for paving the way for the start of serious negotiations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides to revive the peace process within the framework of dialogue sessions between various Palestinian factions hosted by Egypt. The meeting also dealt with maintaining the cease-fire, truce between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, and opening the crossings to ensure the flow of relief aid and humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people in Gaza to alleviate their suffering. On the Saudi side, the meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Hisham Mohieddin Nazer and Undersecretary of Foreign Ministry for Bilateral Relations Dr. Khalid Al-Jandan. On the Egyptian side, it was attended by Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit. It was also attended by a number of Palestinian officials. --SPA www.spa.gov.sa/631872
