Saudi ambassador highlights Saudi-Yemeni relations

Sanaa, March 17, SPA -- Saudi ambassador to Yemen Ali bin Mohammed al-Hamdan has highlighted the existing fraternal relations between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, and said these relations will further develop in the future. In statements published in Sanaa-based al-Thawra newspaper today, al-Hamdan said arrangements were underway to merge Yemen with the gulf states in line with a well-studied plan. He noted that Yemen has already joined some of the GCC organs like the organs of health, social care, labor and sports. We do bless this development, he said. Al-Hamdan pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has allocated $1 billion for Yemen at the donors conference, adding that the money was used in the implementation of several development and service projects in Yemen. On the outcome of the third meeting of the GCC foreign ministers, he said the meeting had yielded positive results. He said the meeting had discussed a number of topics that concern the GCC member states and Yemen, and the outcome of the meeting would serve the interests of the two sides. On the security cooperation between the Kingdom and Yemen, al-Hamdan said security cooperation between the two countries aims at the protection of the two countries, notably as regards fighting terrorism, drugs and crimes.--more www.spa.gov.sa/537260
