10 people killed in raids by foreign, Afghan troops

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, February 04, SPA -- Afghan and foreign forces conducted separate raids on the homes of suspected Taliban militants on Monday, leaving 10 people dead, includingwomen and children, police said. In western Farah province, troops attacked the home ofsuspected Taliban member Mullah Manan, killing nine people,including two women and two children, said district policechief Khan Agha. He said the troops acted on intelligence indicating thatinsurgents were meeting at his house. Manan escaped theattack.
