KABUL, Afghanistan, February 08, SPA -- A suicide car bomber detonated his explosives near a convoy of Afghan troops on Friday,killing one soldier and a child who was nearby. Another four soldiers and a child were also wounded in theattack in central Ghazni province, said provincial Gov. Faizullah Faizan. The latest attack comes a day after a suicide car bombtargeting a NATO convoy left three soldiers lightly woundedin eastern Khost province, and a bungled suicide attackhurt two civilians in southwestern Nimroz province. Last year, the Taliban launched more than 140 suicidemissions _ the highest number since they were ousted frompower by the U.S.-led invasion of 2001.
