ISLAMABAD, NOV 30, SPA -- President Pervez Musharraf has announced that the state of emergency, imposed on Nov 3, will be lifted on Dec 16. Addressing the nation Thursday night, he said the security situation was almost under control and the process to the true democracy was on, therefore, the state of emergency would be lifted and the Constitution would be restored. There was no democracy at all in Pakistan in the past and it will be for the first time in its history of that democracy will be introduced. I have kept my promises made to the nation, including doffing military uniform and restoring of democracy, Musharraf said.
