London, Oct 26, SPA -- The British forign office has underlined the importance of the existing bilateral relations between the United Kingodm and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabi, and said Sadi Arabia is an important partenr of Britain in the Middle East. On a comment published on its website on the occasion of the visit of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosuqes King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to Britan next week, the foreign office said Britan and Saudi Arabia are linked with fair relations and Britain has interests with Saudi Arabia, notably economic interests and in fighting terrorism as well as realizing stability at the regional and international arenas. The statement pointed out that Saudi Arabia has been playing an effective role in the Middle East region, notably as regards the Arab problems. The statement pointed out to the Saudi significnt role in accelerating the wheel of peace process in the Middle East, and said King Abdullah presented his peace initiatve at the Arab summit held in Beirut in 2002 and the initiatve was approved at the Arab summit held in Riyadh in March 2007. It highlighted the Saudi stand visa-vis the developments in Iraq, and said Saudi Arabia supports the peace process and the national unity of Iraq, and at the same time it is keen on the borders security and the stability of the situation . On the Lebanese issue, the statement welcomed the efforts of Saudi Arabia to help the Lebanese parties reach a poltiical settlement, and said Saudi Arabia is the biggest individual donor to the recosntruction efforts there.--more www.spa.gov.sa/493613
