ISLAMABAD, March 1, SPA -- Pakistani police on Saturdayformally accused the top Taliban leader in the country ofplanning the assassination of opposition leader BenazirBhutto, AP reported. Police filed preliminary charges in court againstBaitullah Mehsud, whom the Pakistani government named as asuspect in the Dec. 27 killing of Bhutto. Four others werealso charged in the suicide and gun-attack at a publicrally. «Police submitted preliminary charges in the Bhutto casebefore an anti-terrorism court, and the judge issued anon-bailable warrant of arrest against Baitullah Mehsud andfour other accused,» said Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, chiefinvestigator in the case.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/531935
