ISLAMABAD, FEB 23, SPA -- Pakistan attaches a great importance to its relation with Yemen and wants to further extend cooperation in health sector, said Health Minister Ijaz Raheem while talking to Ambassador of Yemen Abdul-Elah Hajar, according to an official statement. The ambassador discussed with the minister matters pertaining to cooperation in health sector. During the meeting a working group was set up to discuss details of medical cooperation between the two countries. The minister promised full consideration to Yemen s request for increasing graduate and post-graduate facilities for Yemeni doctors in Pakistan. It was decided to finalize plans of actions to operationalize memorandums of understanding and protocol signed earlier between the two governments. It was also decided that pharmaceutical delegates would be encouraged to visit each other facilities. The ambassador asked for providing a list of registered pharmaceutical companies in Pakistan which may be allowed to work in his country. He said that Yemen can become the gateway for the African market of Pakistani pharmaceutical products. Raheem assured that decision taken in health field during recent visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to Yemen will be vigorously pursued.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/529522
