SEOUL, October 23, SPA -- South Korea intends to extendthe country's troop dispatch to Iraq for another year afterdownsizing the mission by half, President Roh Moo-hyun saidTuesday. In a nationally televised address, Roh said the governmentmade the decision in consideration of the country'salliance with the United States. South Korea has 1,200 troops in Iraq and the mission isset to expire at the end of the year.
