ISLAMABAD, OCTOBER 22, SPA -- Pakistan's Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz had a telephonic conversation with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, said an official statement. Pakistan fully supports the UN reforms, Aziz said and added that the pilot project being undertaken in Pakistan for a single window UN system is proceeding ahead quite well. The two leaders also discussed Pakistan's role as the Chairman of the G-77 group in ensuring that the UN activities reflect the aspirations and wishes of the developing countries. They talked about efforts for the implementation of decisions of the UN reforms meeting of the high-level panel which was co-chaired by Aziz, Prime Minister of Norway Jens Stoltenberg and Prime Minister of Mozambique Luisa Dias Diogo. The UN Secretary General appreciated Pakistan's role in ensuring regional peace and security as well as the contribution made to the United Nations peace keeping operations in several countries around the world.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/492328
