The Makkah-based Al-Nadwa, highlighting the Saudi-American relations, said these relations have proved to be deep-rooted and capable of facing severe antagonistic media attacks following the incidents of September 11. Those media attacks were primarily aimed at undermining the Saudi-American relations, but thanks to the wisdom of the leaders of the two countries, the bilateral relations were not affected by the media attacks, said the daily. The paper noted that the telephone call has reflected the significant role that can be played by the Kingdom at the regional and international domains as well as its positive role in enhancing the pillars of global security and stability. In the light of the great attention given by Obama to the peace initiative, it is hoped that Washington will put pressure on Israel and persuade it not to miss the available peace opportunity.
