BAGHDAD, Aug 06, SPA -- A suicide bomber slammed his truck into a densely populated residential area in the northern Iraqi city of Tal Afar on Monday, killing at least 28 people, police said. The attack occurred in a crowded neighborhood ofthe city, 420 kilometers (260 miles) northwest ofBaghdad. At least 40 others were wounded in the attack, said Brig. Gen. Rahim al-Jibouri, commander of Tal Afar police. The death toll was expected to rise, he was quoted as saying by the Associated Press.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/473034
