PARIS, JUNE 10, SPA -- Voters resoundingly endorsed PresidentNicolas Sarkozy's plans to overhaul France's economy onSunday, giving his party a commanding lead in the firstround of elections for parliament, AP QUOTED polling agencies as saying. Sarkozy's UMP party and its allies were projected to winabout 46 percent of the vote, while the oppositionSocialists and other leftists were expected to win 36-37percent, according to projections by three pollingagencies. That gives the conservatives a strong advantageheading into the June 17 runoff, and puts them on track foran absolute majority in parliament.
