Neighboring Countries of Iraq Meeting on Friday

United Nations, MAY 4, SPA -- A number of large regional groups will meet up tomorrow for the neighboring countries of Iraq meeting being held at Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, while the Arab League will be briefing the countries in attendance on the fringes regarding the King Abdullah Arab Peace Initiative for Palestine and Israel. The Neighboring countries of Iraq, including Saudi Arabia, Syria, Qatar, Kuwait and Egypt, plus the world s richest countries and China, also called the G8, and the permanent five members of the UN Security Council, including Russia, China, France, UK, and US, will all be in attendance. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will observe the conference. On the fringes of the conference, Arab League Secretary-General Amre Moussa will brief delegations separately on the progress made on the Arab Peace Initiative, and will call for more action, according to sources.
