Communique: Saudi, Moroccan Leaders affirm joint desire to boost ties 6 Fez

THE TWO SIDES UNDERSCORED THE IMPORTANCE OF MAKING THE MIDDLE EAST REGION FREE FROM WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION, AFFIRMING THEIR REFUSAL TO NUCLEAR PROLIFERATION AND RENEWED THE RIGHT OF ALL STATES TO OBTAIN EXPERIENCE IN THE FIELD OF PEACEFUL NUCLEAR ENERGY ACCORDING TO INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS. THE TWO SIDES DENOUNCED TERRORISM IN ALL FORMS AS IT THREATENS INTERNATIONAL PEACE AND SECURITY, REFUSING TO LINK IT TO ANY RELIGION OR CIVILIZATION. IN THIS CONTEXT, THEY STRESSED THEIR DESIRE TO WORK TOGETHER TO ENHANCE COOPERATION IN AN EFFECTIVE MANNER TO COMBAT THE DANGER OF TERRORISM AND OTHER CRIMES SUCH AS MONEY LAUNDERING, DRUGS AND ARMS SMUGGLING. THE TWO SIDES SIGNED DURING THE HISTORICAL VISIT A NUMBER OF AGREEMENTS TO ENHANCE RELATIONS BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES. FOLLOWING ARE THE AGREEMENTS: MOU TO ESTABLISH A POLITICAL CONSULTATION MECHANISM BETWEEN MOROCCO'S MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND COOPERATION, AND SAUDI ARABIA'S MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS; MOU IN THE FIELD OF ISLAMIC AFFAIRS AND ENDOWMENTS BETWEEN MOROCCO'S MINISTRY OF ENDOWMENTS AND ISLAMIC AFFAIRS, AND SAUDI ARABIA'S MINISTRY OF ISLAMIC AFFAIRS, ENDOWMENTS, CALL AND GUIDANCE; EXECUTIVE PROGRAM FOR COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF TOURISM BETWEEN MOROCCO'S MINISTRY OF TOURISM, TRADITIONAL INDUSTRY, AND SOCIAL ECONOMY, AND SAUDI ARABIA'S HIGHER COMMISSION FOR TOURISM; TWINNING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE MOROCCAN CITY OF MOULAI ALI AL-SHARIF AND SAUDI ARABIA'S CITY OF YANBU. AT THE END OF THE VISIT, THE CUSTODIAN OF THE TWO HOLY MOSQUES EXPRESSED HIS THANKS AND APPRECIATION TO THE KING OF MOROCCO FOR THE WARM WELCOME HE HAS RECEIVED AND OFFERED KING MOHAMMED VI AN INVITATION TO VISIT SAUDI ARBIA.
