Tehran, March 18, SPA - Iranian Government Spokesman Gholam Hossein Elham said today that President Ahmadinejad's trip to New York depends on the United Nations Security Council's meeting. Speaking to IRNA on the sidelines of a mourning ceremony in Narmak Grand Mosque, where first Vice-President Parviz Davoudi and the Executive Vice-President Ali Saeedlou were also present, Elham said, "If the meeting is held, the president will definitely be in New York to attend it." Concerning the reactions to the trip plan, the spokesman stressed that "It will be done based on national interests." President Ahmadinejad is to attend UNSC meeting to defend Iran's nuclear rights when the Council will be discussing a resolution on Iran's nuclear activities.
