Shalhoub said that implementing and following-up summit conferences held by the United Nations requires goodwill and mutual trust between all partners as well as understanding of the interests of each party in an atmosphere of constructive dialogue, equality and mutual understanding. The five-year review made by the UN for its conferences is an evidence of the desire and keenness of the States of the organization to mobilize all forms of support in order to implement the outcomes of the conferences, including the Millennium Development Goals. He also pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has participated actively and positively in all summits and conferences held by the United Nations. In order to confirm its deep belief in the importance of international work and to strengthen this work in all its forms and manifestations, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has joined many specialized organizations and ratified many international treaties and conventions that have been reached under UN encouragement and sponsorship.
