GAZA CITY, Nov 22, SPA -- Two Italian Red Cross workers kidnapped Tuesday afternoon were released shortly after midnight, Palestinian security officials said. Shortly before their release, the local Red Cross office said it was suspending its activities in Gaza, fearing for the safety of its workers, the Associated Press reported. Iyad Nasr, a spokesman for the Red Cross's Gaza office, said the organization had ceased all field operations and would intervene only "in matters of life and death." Workers have been ordered to stay in their offices because of fears for their safety, he said.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/405322
