Damascus, Mar 31, SPA - Syrian newspapers today continued to give prominence to the 19th Arab summit which concluded its meetings in Riyadh last Thursday under the blessed patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. Syrian newspaper also spoke about the EU welcome of the Arab peace initiative as an opportunity which should be seized, while Israel rejected the initiative and the US remained silent. The press added: The Arab summit concluded achieving more than was expected and this is a positive result for Arab leaders. The press also noted that the summit restored hope to people, and revived to a great extent the Arab solidarity. In fact, it is the summit of hope as was mentioned by President Bashar Al-Assad, many observers and analysts, even Arab as well as foreign diplomats. The press indicated: we were afraid of Arab deterioration beyond the red lines, yet the pioneers of the summit proved the contrary and came up with resolutions which trespassed the red lines.
