U.N.’S ANNAN MEETS DANISH PREMIER

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK, JUNE 18, SPA -- U.N. SECRETARY-GENERAL KOFI ANNAN MET WITH PRIME MINISTER ANDERS FOGH RASMUSSEN ON SUNDAY DURING A ONE-DAY VISIT TO DENMARK, OFFICIAL SAID. THEY WERE EXPECTED TO DISCUSS IRAN, SUDAN AND THE U.N.ROLE IN IRAQ, ACCORDING TO FOGH RASMUSSEN’S OFFICE. THE MEETING TOOK PLACE AT THE MARIENBORG ESTATE, THEDANISH PRIME MINISTERS’ OFFICIAL SUMMER RESIDENCE NORTH OF COPENHAGEN. DENMARK, A NON-PERMANENT MEMBER OF THE SECURITY COUNCIL AND ITS CURRENT PRESIDENT, HAS SAID IT WILL CONTRIBUTE A C-130 HERCULES PLANE WITH UP TO 70 STAFF FOR U.N. RECONSTRUCTION EFFORTS IN IRAQ.
