BAGHDAD, Iraq, Oct 13, SPA -- The commander of a battalion of special Interior Ministry police was killed Friday by a bomb planted inside his headquarters building, police said. The morning explosion in Hillah, about 95 kilometers (60 miles) south of Baghdad, killed Col. Salam al-Maamouri, commander of the Scorpion police battalion, and his aide, while injuring seven others, police Lt. Osama Ahmed said.
