United Nations, Oct 5, SPA -- The U.N. Security Council on Wednesday considered a Japanese draft resolution urging North Korea to refrain from nuclear testing and calling on Pyongyang to return to six-nation talks on dismantling its nuclear program. The Security Council urges the DPRK (Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea) not to undertake such a test and to refrain from any action that might aggravate tension, said the Japanese draft, a copy of which was obtained by S.P.A. The members of the Security Council underline that such a test would bring universal condemnation by the international community, the draft resolution said. A panel of experts was convening Wednesday afternoon to discuss the draft. --SPA www.spa.gov.sa/394240
