New York, Jumada I 16, 1437, Feb 25, 2016, SPA -- The United States is set to introduce a draft resolution at the UN Security Council Thursday after agreeing with China on a text imposing stronger sanctions on North Korea, a spokesman for the US mission to the UN said. The final text of the resolution comes after the Security Council agreed to tighten sanctions on Pyongyang following the nuclear and missile tests it conducted in the past two months, dpa reported. "We look forward to working with the council on a strong and comprehensive response to [North Korea's] latest series of tests aimed at advancing their nuclear weapons program," said Kurtis Cooper, acting spokesman for the US mission, late Wednesday night. The text will be discussed at a closed meeting of the Security Council Thursday afternoon. -- SPA 20:40 LOCAL TIME 17:40 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
