ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN, AUG 11, SPA – A team from Pakistan Interior Ministry has held talks with US authorities in Washington on consular access to Pakistanis detained at Guantanamo Bay prison, Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said. Details about the outcome of the Washington talks would be made public after the return of the team, the minister told the reporters. About Pakistan-India relations, Sherpao said it is in the interest of both countries and the region to continue the peace process without any interruption. He said the Indian side should refrain from hurling allegations against Pakistan over the July blasts at Mumbai. If they had any evidence they should provide it to Islamabad, he added. The Minister said the recent unsubstantiated allegations seemed to be an attempt to cover up failure of the Indian security establishment. Sherpao said Pakistan is a coalition partner in the war on terror and condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestation and there was no Pakistani involvement in the Mumbai incident.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/382141
