United Nations, June 10, SPA -- The Palestinian ambassador to the United Nations on Friday called on the international community to force Israel to stop attacks against Palestinians. Ambassador Riyadh Mansour’s plea came shortly after seven family members were killed at a Gaza beach, apparently by Israeli artillery or naval fire. “The situation in Gaza is extremely explosive,” Mansour told reporters. “It is the responsibility of the Security Council to do everything possible.” “The president of the Security Council might contact the Israeli ambassador and bring to the Israeli government the position of the council that it cannot tolerate such aggression, particularly against civilians,” Mansour said.
