ISLAMABAD, APRIL 4, SPA -- PAKISTAN AND TURKEY HAVE REVIEWED BILATERAL RELATIONS IN TRADE, ECONOMY CULTURE AND EDUCATION DURING THEIR SECOND ROUND OF POLITICAL CONSULTATIONS AND DECIDED TO FURTHER STRENGTHEN THESE TIES, ACCORDING TO AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT ISSUED HERE TODAY. FOREIGN SECRETARY RIAZ MOHAMMAD KHAN LED THE PAKISTAN SIDE AND UNDER SECRETARY FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS ALI TUYGAN THE TURKISH DELEGATION. THE FIRST ROUND OF CONSULTATIONS BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES WAS HELD IN ANKARA IN AUGUST 2003. THEY ALSO DISCUSSED SEVERAL OTHER ISSUES, INCLUDING DEVELOPMENTS IN THE MIDDLE EAST, SOUTH ASIA AND AFGHANISTAN.
