Jakarta, Sept 13, SPA -- An Indonesian militant wassentenced to death on Tuesday for helping plan and carryout last year's suicide bombing at the Australian Embassy. Iwan Darmawan, also known as Rois, said he would appealthe verdict. He has always denied involvement in the Sept. 9, 2004,attack in Jakarta that killed 10 people, according to a report of the Associated Press. "The defendant Iwan Darmawan alias Rois and his friendswere seriously involved in the planning of the attack bybuying explosives and assembling the bomb," Judge RockiPanjaitan told the South Jakarta District Court. Darmawan is the most senior of six people arrested inconnection with the attack, which killed 10 people andwounded nearly 200.
