New Zealand PM in talks at NATO, EU over Afghanistan, world trade talks

Brussels,Belgium, Nov 28, SPA -- New Zealand's Prime MinisterHelen Clark was at NATO headquarters Monday holding talkson whether her country would send more peacekeepers tobolster the alliance's troops in Afghanistan. Clark said last week that her country had no plans to deploy more troops there, although her foreign minister has said New Zealand was open to offers. She wasmeeting with Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer todiscuss the issue. Later Monday, Clark was to meet with European Unionlawmakers at the European Parliament to discuss world tradetalks. New Zealand, siding with Australia and Canada, hascalled on the EU to open up its agricultural market tocompetition at the talks.
