Manila, Oct 5, SPA -- Philippines' President GloriaMacapagal Arroyo on Wednesday called for quick passage of atough anti-terrorism law by Congress. The House of Representatives' committees on justice andforeign affairs voted Tuesday to approve an anti-terrorismbill based on several earlier versions, with debate by thefull chamber expected to start next week. "I hope that this will soon pass not only in the Housebut also the Senate," Arroyo said on governmenttelevision. "So many people _ ordinary citizens, soldiersand police _ have died in the hands of terrorism, and it istime to cut it down while it is trying to spread itstentacles in many countries.
