Samarra, Iraq, Jan 16, SPA -- U.S. troops fired on a car that spedtoward them in central Iraq on Sunday morning, wounding twopeople, the military said. Iraqi Police and several witnesses, however, reported thatfour people were killed and that the vehicle was hit bytank fire. The shooting occurred around 8:40 a.m. justoutside the city of Samarra. A military spokesman for the Tikrit-based Task ForceDanger said there was no tank at the position. He saidground troops opened fire after the car ignored severalwarning shots and continued to speed toward their battleposition.
