Kathmandu, April 24, SPA -- Five Nepalese children were killedand three wounded when a bomb they were playing withexploded, the army said Sunday. The Royal Nepalese army said the bomb had been planted byMaoist rebels. The army's claim couldn't be verified, butthe area where the blast took place is under rebel control. The children found the device on Saturday in the villageof Pakhapani, about 400 kilometers (250 miles) west ofKatmandu. Five of the children, aged between three and 13,died instantly when the bomb exploded, the army said.
