constitution The Hague, Netherlands, April 19, SPA -- The Dutch and French foreign ministers on Tuesday were to discuss the upcoming European referendums on the adoption of the EU constitution. Talks between Dutch Foreign Minister Ben Bot and France'sMichel Barnier would also touch on Sudan, Iran, Iraq andMiddle East peace efforts, a statement said. The Dutch go to the polls on June 1, three days after theFrench, to vote "Yes" or "No" to the historic EUcharter. Polls in the Netherlands have been divided, with amajority saying they don't know what the constitutioncontains. Bot has said he is confident the Dutch will vote"Yes." Opinion polls in the past several weeks have consistentlyshown that France will reject the constitution, an outcomethat would have significant repercussions within France andthe European Union.
