Fallujah, Nov 27, SPA -- The Iraqi Red Crescent rescued 150 civilians in the western Iraqi city of Fallujah and is providing them with medical treatment and food, the head of the organization said Saturday. Secretary-General of the Red Crescent Jamal al-Karbouli told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa that rescue teams were able to find 150 civilians, including women and children, in several neighbourhoods in the city over the past two days. "The civilians are now in one of the houses in the city and are receiving medical treatment and food," al-Karbouli said. He added that most of the civilians were in "a bad condition" as a result of being incarcerated. The city was quiet Friday night with no reported attacks or explosions. Al-Karbouli said more rescue teams were dispatched to neighbourhoods that sustained intensive attacks to find survivors and bodies. "Negotiations are taking place currently with U.S. forces to allow the civilians out of the city," he said. --SPA 1329 Local Time 1029 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/219990
