New York, Aug 29, SPA -- A U.S. citizen and a Pakistani nationalwere arrested in an alleged plot to bomb a subway stationin midtown Manhattan and possibly other locations aroundthe city, police said. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said Saturday the men werenot thought to be connected to al-Qaida or any otherinternational terrorist organization, although he said theyexpressed hatred for America. The arrests came two days before the start of theRepublican National Convention, which is drawing tens ofthousands of visitors to the city. Though there was no clear tie to the convention,authorities moved to arrest the two men before it began.
