Mosul, Oct 25, SPA -- Insurgents targeted Iraqi governmentbuildings and a military convoy in two near-simultaneousbomb attacks Monday in the northern city of Mosul, killingthree people, the U.S. military and Iraqi officials said. A car bomb exploded inside the government compound inMosul, the provincial capital of Nineveh, and early reportsindicated it was a suicide attack, the military said in astatement. A mortar round destroyed a gas station acrossthe street. Three people inside the compound were killed and anotherone was injured in the morning blast, said provincialgovernment spokesman Hazem Jalawi. Also around 11 a.m. (0800 GMT), a suicide car bomberattacked a convoy carrying an Iraqi general, slightlyinjuring him, the military said.
