Islamabad, Aug 21, SPA -- Pakistan's designated primeminister wants the dispute over Kashmir to be resolvedaccording to the wishes of people living in the Himalayanregion, which is divided between Pakistan and India. Shaukat Aziz, however, also said Saturday he intended topursue peace talks with India, which began last year. "I think (the) Kashmir issue should be resolved keepingin view the wishes and priorities of Kashmiris," Aziz toldPakistan's independent Geo television in an interview onSaturday. But he added: "After taking over as prime minister, Iwill continue peace talks with India." Both nations in recent months have taken steps to improverelations, with senior Pakistani and Indian officialsmeeting to discuss contentious issues such as Kashmir.
