Islamabad, December 20, 2021, SPA -- The Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Imran Khan has called for the development of an effective and comprehensive strategy to pull Afghanistan out of the crises and problems it is currently facing. In a speech he delivered during OIC's extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of Member States held in Islamabad, Pakistan, he expressed his gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the Chairman of the current summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and for hosting the current extraordinary session in Pakistan to discuss the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan. He urged the international community to expand urgent aid to Afghan people to alleviate their suffering. He also called for the release of frozen Afghan assets to avoid an economic collapse in this country, stressing that instability in Afghanistan would have serious repercussions on neighboring countries and the entire region, including mass displacement and refugee flows. -- SPA 04:56 LOCAL TIME 01:56 GMT 0002 www.spa.gov.sa/w1667462
