Beijing, Sept 2, SPA -- China said Thursday it was pushing for anew round of six-party talks on North Korea's nuclear program by the end of September. "China has been maintaining close contact with the restof the parties," said Foreign Ministry spokesman KongQuan."We hope to progressively promote ... the six-partytalks being held before the end of September because it isthe consensus we reached during the third round of talks." Kong refused to give an exact date on when the talks orworking meetings would take place. The last round of discussions ended in June without majorprogress toward a settlement.
