Bujumbura, Aug 24, SPA -- Burundian rebels attacked anarmy position just south of the capital in a clash thatleft three rebels dead and three soldiers wounded, an armyspokesman said Tuesday. The fighters from the National Liberation Force, the lastremaining rebel group in Burundi, launched the attack onthe camp near Ruyaga, three kilometers (two miles) south ofBujumbura late Monday night. "Army checkpoints, which controlled the area from thesurrounding hills, supported the soldiers in Ruyaga campand pushed the attackers back into the hills," Cmdr.Adolphe Manirakiza said.
