Baghdad, Aug 24, SPA -- Assailants on Tuesday targetedconvoys of the interim government's ministers ofenvironment and education in two separate bombings inBaghdad, officials said. Neither of the ministers was hurt, but at least fivepeople were reported dead. In one of the attacks, a car bomb exploded in the southernBaghdad neighborhood of Kadisea as Environment MinisterMiskhat Moumin was passing through in a convoy, ministryspokesman Dalal Ali said. Moumin escaped unharmed, Alisaid. "However, four people were killed in that blast," said apolice brigadier speaking on condition of anonymity. Ziyadal-Hashimi of Baghdad's Yarmouk hospital said at least twoother people were injured. In a second attack around the same time in the westernBaghdad district of al-Khadra, a roadside bomb exploded asa convoy of vehicles was headed to pick up EducationMinister Sami Mudhafar, the police said. The education minister was not in the convoy at the timeof the attack and was not wounded, the police brigadiersaid.
