New Delhi, Aug 3, SPA -- Officials from India and Pakistan met in New Delhi Tuesday to promote cultural ties, tourism and contacts between the citizens of the nuclear-armed rivals. The two sides held discussions on liberalizing current visa policies and providing multiple visas to journalists, academics and tourists, officials said. Also on the agenda for the two-day talks are book fairs, the screening of Bollywood films in Pakistan, the welfare of civilian prisoners and religious tourism. About 7,000 Hindu and Sikh pilgrims visit shrines in Pakistan, while an estimated 1,300 Pakistani travel to places of worship in India. Tuesday's talks were part of the composite dialogue both countries agreed to hold following a meeting between then Indian premier Atal Behari Vajpayee and Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf in January. --SPA 1417 Local Time 1117 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/188514
